Why? Why?!

Why are politicians sometimes so fucking stupid? Why are the bloody Christian Democrats/Christian Socialists sitting there and blocking the passage of the Environmental Civil Code? Why are they letting this piece of legislation, whose need has been apparent for nigh 20 years, fail? Why can this Grand Coalition not rise above its petty squabbles and do something.. grand? Why is America's way out of the financial crisis to invest bucketloads in "green" projects, when the best the German Chancellor – the ex-environment minister! – can announce is some meaningless adjustment of the tax scales and a bonus for buying a new car? Why is it considered noteworthy that the price of new cars rose as a result? Why can this country, traditionally so strong in things green, not pull its finger out of its fucking arse – not even to standardise environmental legislation across all the states?!

Why am I surprised?
